Medical Update

Alex Pournelle reports today on Dr. Pournelle’s current health status:

As of this morning, Dad is improving still. More motor skills, more speech improvement (at least to me). He is also annoyed at his inability to express himself by typing, though I suspect he will be back to banging away pretty quick, at least with 2 fingers.

Tomorrow starts the long term intensive physical therapy and then home adaptation. Will update as that happens.

Thanks again for all the good wishes.

You folks have many good people thinking about you. May I offer an unconventional experiment in hopes of helping Jerry? In the very near future, post on this site a precise date/time GMT , for all of his friends to do a 2 minute global meditation to help heal Jerry, each visualizing his injured spot in his brain, and healing it. I did this a yoga class, years ago, for a person I never met with terminal cancer, she recovered in 6 days, and that was only with about a dozen people! I never forgot that, never done it since , maybe its time to give it a go again? My prayers and peace with you both.

I’ve just learned of your stroke, I haven’t been able to follow chaos manor much those past few months.

I know a little about strokes, my mother-in-law has had four over the past six years. What I’ve seen is, if it’s treated immediately, while the symptoms are very distressing in the immediate aftermath, you do recover, a lot faster than you might fear early on.

    Hang on, Jerry hang on!

This atheist will not pray, but I ‘m sure thinking of you, wishing you well, and I’m confident you’ll recover and never lose the sharp mind I so love.
