MERRY CHRISTMAS

We had a nice day. Roberta sang at the midnight mass Saturday night, and again this morning, so we’ve been a bit short of sleep, and I’m heading for bed.

Merry Christmas to All, and a Happy New Year.

I have run this on Christmas Eve most years. Last night I didn’t get anything up because we had to get Roberta to the choir on time.

O ye, beneath life’s crushing load,
whose forms are bending low,
Who toil along the climbing way
with painful steps and slow,

Look now! For glad and golden hours
come swiftly on the wing:
O rest beside the weary road,
and hear the angels sing!

Yet with the woes of sin and strife,
the world has suffered long
Beneath the heavenly strain have rolled
two thousand years of wrong;

And man, at war with man, hears not
the tidings that they bring;
O hush the noise, ye men of strife,
and hear the angels sing!

And a Merry Christmas to all who keep the peace.
